MAKING

Luminous
2020.8
The delicate structure made entirely of stainless steel wire is three-dimensional and coated with resin. Although it is a man-made object, it has an organic shape close to nature and blends into the landscape.
At night, the lighting allows grains of light to spread out to cloak people. A walk through the garden colors the face-to-face view through which you can see through. The familiar form connects the beauty of nature with the feelings of the people. During the daytime, the resin is glittering like morning dew water.

A product series is based on the concept of multiplication. We aim to create beautiful works that blends in with all kinds of situations, and take a hybrid approach, inspired by industrial products such as vehicles and machinery. We applied the principles, which creates architecture, to design. Even if they become 10 times or 100 times larger, they might fulfill the necessary functions in life and can also be realized as a structure. We explore unique designs that are highly functional and stimulate people's senses in a way that makes them want to choose how to use them freely.

The city getting blue
2010.9
In architecture and town development, we bring richness to people's minds through logical thinking based on knowledge. At the same time, I would like to derive important things in creating a place by connecting things that I rarely think about and understanding the essence.

This is a personal report I made when I accompanied Tetsuya Ukai (currently an associate professor at the Graduate School of Arts and Engineering, Kyushu University) at GCOE in 2009 when I was a graduate student at the University of Tokyo.

Introducing the bookshelves in the office and recommended books. I hope it will be helpful for those who are studying architecture and those who want to know what kind of place the design office is. We also rent it out. Please contact us using the contact form.

Lecture by Contemporary Dancer

This is a research of biological reaction between dancer and audience by Moe Sugawa, a past client.
I'm trying to change the way dancers and audiences see things. Even if there were no stage steps, why would you create a virtual wall? During the dance performances, we're watching at times, the audiences always react with heartbeats, blinks, movements, etc., to give me an atmosphere and to make me feel like I'm in it.

The city can be your stage
2019.12
The close proximity of the stage to the audience and the simple structure allows you to feel a high degree of appreciation for the people in the audience on stage. Therefore, I think the composition is designed in such a way that when you dance, the audience can feel a sense of elevation and the whole thing is exciting.
In SOHO, NY, there are windows all over the wall like this, so you can practice while looking at the city. I felt it was a rich environment to be able to dance with a view of the city, as a studio on a lower floor just can't have an opening because of privacy.
Like graffiti, each person finds an interesting place to live and starts activities in a highly public place, and the viewer finds the best position in his or her own way. Some are sitting, some are standing, and some are watching from the air, I think. I find those situations to be nicer than booking a seat.
